Christopher Kovalchick

Christopher Kovalchick, PhD, serves as the Director of Systems Engineering in the Research Development organization of Abbott's diabetes care business, leveraging extensive experience since joining Abbott in 2023 following its acquisition of Bigfoot Biomedical. Kovalchick has a distinguished career, previously holding senior director positions at Bigfoot Biomedical, where leadership spanned Systems Engineering and New Product Development. Earlier roles included significant contributions at Eli Lilly and Company, where Kovalchick was the technical lead for connected automated insulin delivery systems, as well as engineering positions at BD and Intel Corporation. Academic achievements include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech. Additionally, Kovalchick holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University.
