Debika Mitra

Debika Mitra is an accomplished professional in the biomedical engineering and medical device industries with extensive experience spanning product development, regulatory affairs, and marketing. Starting with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, Mitra has a robust background in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects. At Profusa, Mitra served in various roles, including Product Development and Regulatory Affairs Intern, Product Development Engineer, Products and Regulatory Affairs Associate, and Product Manager, where significant achievements included overseeing CE Mark submission for a novel oxygen sensor. In a recent position at Abbott as Lead for Vessel Closure, Mitra exhibited expertise in full product lifecycle management. A foundational experience as a member of Georgia Tech's first iGEM team solidified skills in interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership. Mitra's research background includes optimizing human therapeutic protein expressions and exploring mesenchymal stem cells in bone healing, complemented by numerous publications and presentations.
