Farnaz Sharif

Data Scientist

Farnaz Sharif is an experienced researcher and data scientist with a strong background in computational modeling, neuroscience, and optical metrology. As a Postdoctoral Scholar at Harvard Medical School from June 2018 to May 2019, Farnaz developed an innovative computational model for simulating spatial coding mechanisms in the hippocampal formation. Currently serving as a Data Scientist in Global Data Science & Analytics at Abbott since March 2022, Farnaz transitioned from a significant research role at NYU Langone Health, where efforts involved analyzing neuronal signals of rodents to explore the brain mechanisms related to navigation behavior. Prior experiences include research assistant positions at Yonsei University, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, and KNTU, focusing on diverse topics such as optical nano-lithography and guided wave propagation in carbon nanotubes. Farnaz holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering & Neuroscience from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, earned between 2014 and 2018.
