Karen Masterson

Karen Masterson is currently a Staff R&D Engineer at Abbott, where they focus on the development of long-term implantable class III left ventricular assist devices. With extensive experience in materials science, they have been involved in PMA and clinical trial support, including root cause analysis and regulatory submissions. Their past roles include R&D Materials Engineer positions at companies such as Thoratec, Thermo CardioSystems, and St. Jude Medical, where they contributed to the design and validation of blood pumps and materials development. Karen holds a BS/MS in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
