Lorena Gomez

Lorena Gomez is an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical and clinical research sectors, currently serving as the Head of Global Business Operations at AbbVie since September 2008. In this role, Lorena leads initiatives that enhance agility within AbbVie Research and Development, overseeing various teams focused on process improvement and compliance. Prior to this, Lorena held several leadership positions at AbbVie, including Global Head of Study Start Up and Director of Global Study Start Up. Earlier experience includes roles at Essential Group Inc., AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, PAREXEL, and PPD, where responsibilities ranged from project management to clinical research coordination. Lorena holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from The University of Texas at Austin.
