Eric Swanson is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in immunoassays and neurobiology. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist in Immunoassay Platform Innovation at Abcam since March 2020, Eric previously held roles at Marker Gene Technologies, Inc. as a Senior Industrial Postdoctoral Fellow and the University of Pittsburgh as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where research focused on G-protein coupled receptors in Alzheimer’s Disease. Eric's academic journey includes a PhD in Pathology/Experimental Pathology from the University of Virginia, where the dissertation examined the impact of soluble tau aggregates on neuronal dysfunction. Eric has extensive teaching experience as a teaching assistant in various biology and physiology courses at the University of Virginia and held research positions at the University of Pennsylvania before pursuing a doctorate.
