Rawan Yasmin

Head of Open Learning & Scholarships at Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education

Rawan Yasmin has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Rawan started their career in the field of research, working as a Research Assistant at the HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies in 2010, and later at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2011. In 2011, they also interned at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

After that, they joined The LEAP Program as a Program Coordinator in 2012. Rawan then worked as a Project Officer at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency from 2013 to 2014.

In 2014, Rawan became an Enterprise Development Officer at the International Labour Organization before transitioning to the role of Senior Analyst at Globesight in 2015.

Their most recent work experience includes roles at the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, starting as a Senior Program Officer from 2016 to 2019, then as Deputy Program Manager from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Open Learning & Scholarships at the same organization.

Rawan Yasmin completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from the American University of Beirut in 2010. After that, they pursued a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, which they successfully obtained in 2012.
