Alaa Ashmawy

Alaa Ashmawy is currently serving as the President at Deraya University. Prior to this, they held positions such as Research Professor at The University of New Mexico, Special Advisor at ABET, and Chief Academic Officer at the University of Balamand Dubai. With a background in Civil Engineering, they have also worked as a Dean and Professor at the American University in Dubai, Assistant/Associate Professor at the University of South Florida, and as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology. Their educational background includes a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Alexandria University.
