Mike Hanlon

Mike Hanlon has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Mike served as the Founder and CEO of Abett since April 2018. Before that, they co-founded and served as the CEO of a different company also named Abett from 2014 to 2017. Mike led research teams as an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation from 2010 to 2014, focusing on global health and healthcare financing. Mike also taught economics and statistics as a Lecturer at the University of Washington and Seattle University from 2007 to 2009. In the earlier stages of their career, they worked at Amazon.com, joining as the 7th employee and holding various roles in operations, business development, and software development from 1995 to 2001. Mike gained management experience as a restaurant manager at Taco Bell in 1994. Mike started their career as a laborer at Alaska Petroleum Contractors in 1991 and had interned at the Office of United States Senator Ted Stevens in 1989. Mike worked as a deckhand in commercial fishing in 1988.
