Ali Nasir Nomani has over 30 years of work experience in the engineering and shipbuilding industry. Ali Nasir started their career as a Corrosion Technologist at Bombay Oil Industries Limited, where they conducted research and development of corrosion inhibitors for oil field applications. Ali Nasir then moved on to work as a Quantity Surveyor and QC Engineer at Global Al Darab Contracting LLC, where they prepared estimates for tenders and ensured quality assurance of blasting and corrosion preventive coating work. After that, they joined Indu Engineering Services as a Project Coordinator, responsible for managing and coordinating various operation and maintenance activities at Oil and Natural Gas Commission. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Department for Surface Treatment and Painting at ABG Shipyard Ltd, which is the biggest private sector shipyard in India. Ali Nasir'srole involves overseeing shipbuilding projects and managing a large workforce.

Ali Nasir Nomani completed their Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Corrosion Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, from 1983 to 1985. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from Udaipur University, from 1980 to 1982. In addition to their academic qualifications, they also obtained the certification of FROSIO Level III from the Norwegian Professional Council for Education and Certification of Inspectors for Surface Treatment in May 2009.
