Chris Barker

Chris Barker has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Chris started their career at Sky as a Senior Operational Support Manager, where they analyzed the commercial implications of technical developments and managed a team of Operations Managers. Chris then worked as a Lecturer and Education Manager at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, where they developed course content and pedagogical delivery for programs related to Systems Thinking and sustainability. Chris later joined the Vietnam Green Building Council as a Sustainability in Buildings Researcher, where they researched and provided recommendations for implementing green building standards. Chris also worked at Clear Asset Finance Limited as a Financial Services Professional, specializing in the Green Energy Division, and providing funding solutions for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. Currently, Chris is working as an Innovation Funding Specialist at Visiativ UK, assisting companies with R&D tax credits, patent box, capital allowances, and grant funding. Throughout their career, Chris has demonstrated excellence in service delivery and has built trust with clients such as Lotus, Airbus, and Rolls Royce.

Chris Barker completed a Bachelor's degree in Economics (with French) from the University of Wolverhampton between 1992 and 1996. In 2008-2009, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education from RMIT University. Later, from 2009 to 2011, they attended De Montfort University to obtain a Master's degree in Science, focusing on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.
