Ammar Hasan

Ammar Hasan began their career in 2007 as a Senior Executive for Review Credit Committee at Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited. In this role, they were responsible for reviewing loan applications prior to disbursement and investigating non-performing loans of branches. In 2009, they were promoted to Associate Manager of the Credit Risk Management Unit, where they were responsible for preparing reports and analytical cuts, and liaising with internal and external audit teams. Ammar also created and administered an online PHP & MySQL based application for over 150 users. In 2011, they were promoted to Manager of the Credit Risk Management Unit, where they were responsible for periodical portfolio reviews of branches and coordinating with branch managers and credit officers. In 2013, they were promoted to Unit Head of Shared Services, where they were responsible for merging the web application with the loan origination and core banking system. In 2015, they were promoted to Unit Head of Risk Analytics, where they were responsible for heading the team that takes care of the entire technological and analytical side of Risk Management. In 2022, they joined Abhi (YC S21) as Chief Risk Officer (CRO), where they are responsible for proactively identifying emerging risks and advising the Management and the Board on appropriate risk management options.

Ammar Hasan's education history includes a Masters in Computer Science from ILMA University (formerly IBT) in Analytics, which they began in 2021 and is expected to complete in 2023. Ammar also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Karachi University in Accounting and Finance, which they obtained between 2011 and 2013. Ammar has also obtained several certifications, including The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®: Signature Edition 4.0 workshop from FranklinCovey in October 2021, Credit Risk Modelling in Python from Udemy in February 2020, Statistics 101 from IBM in September 2017, Big Data Foundations - Level 1 from IBM in August 2017, Data Science Foundations - Level 2 from IBM in August 2017, Data Science Foundations - Level 1 from IBM in July 2017, and INSEAD Telenor Strategy Execution Programme from INSEAD in April 2017.
