Robert began their career in 2004 as an Information Technology Specialist and Telecommunications Operator/Maintainer in the US Army, where they managed computer systems and supervised a team. In subsequent roles, they gained experience in areas such as network operations, system security analysis, and client technical support. Patterson has worked with notable companies such as Abile Group, By Light Professional IT Services, Camber Corporation, Leidos, Chipton Ross, Ross Technologies, Dell Services Federal Government, and Manheim. Their responsibilities have included tasks such as network monitoring, vulnerability identification, problem resolution, troubleshooting, and security assessments. Patterson has held senior positions and has acquired various security clearances throughout their career.
Robert Patterson obtained an Associates in Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Southwestern Illinois College from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, from 1997 to 2009, they studied Architectural Drafting and Architectural CAD/CADD at Lewis and Clark Community College, although they did not obtain a degree in that field. Robert also received a certification in Telecommunications from the United States Army Signal Center in 2004. In addition to their formal education, Robert has obtained several certifications including Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2016, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Certified Strategic Alliance Professional (CSAP), CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Security+, Basic First Aid, CPR Pro, and Emergency Oxygen from various institutions and years.
