Founded in 1986, Abita was the first craft brewery to open in the Southeast. Today, we produce 160,000 barrels of beer annually in a range of great tasting, unpretentious styles including Abita Amber, Purple Haze, and Wrought Iron IPA. Located just north of New Orleans, we recently completed a three-year, $30 million state-of-the-art expansion of the brewery that will increase our capacity to 400,000 barrels while introducing groundbreaking environmental advancements to the brewing process. 

Abita uses only the finest ingredients – British and North American malted barley, German and American yeast strains, Pacific Northwest hops and the pure artesian water of Abita Springs.

The Operations Team at Abita Brewing Co. is responsible for the efficient production, bottling, and maintenance of the brewery's craft beers. Comprised of Automated Machine Operators, Brewers, and Packaging Maintenance Technicians, the team ensures that all machinery and brewing processes run smoothly, maintaining high-quality standards and optimizing production capabilities. They are crucial in leveraging advanced technology and sustainable practices to meet the brewery's expanded capacity goals.
