Luke Hodgson has a diverse work experience, showcasing their skills in engineering, rescue operations, and research. Luke started their professional career as a Lifeguard, Swimming Instructor, and Supervisor at Sackville Sports Stadium from 2009 to 2016. During this time, they provided emergency first aid care, conducted swimming lessons, and effectively communicated with patrons.

In 2014, Luke worked as a Student Research Assistant at Nova Scotia Health Authority where they conducted research on brain tumors and subarachnoid hemorrhages. Luke contributed to the completion of a medical research paper and created a database of patients.

Luke's interest in rescue and safety operations led him to work with the Canadian Coast Guard/Garde côtière canadienne. Luke served as an Inshore Rescue Boat Crew Member in 2015, providing first aid care and boating safety education. In 2017 and 2019, they worked as an Inshore Rescue Boat Coxswain, managing a boat crew, providing training opportunities, and ensuring maximum safety for patrons on the water.

Most recently, Luke has been employed at ABK Biomedical Inc. since 2019. Luke initially worked as a Manufacturing Team Member and later transitioned into the role of Engineering Associate in April 2021.

Luke Hodgson completed their education at two different institutions. From 2012 to 2014, they attended Mount Allison University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree with a specialization in Chemistry. Following this, they enrolled at Dalhousie University from 2014 to 2019, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Chemical Engineering with a Co-operative Education focus.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Luke Hodgson has also obtained several certifications. In January 2020, they completed the "Fire Safety: The Basics" and "Personal Protective Equipment: The Basics" courses from the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety. In December 2019, they obtained the "WHMIS 2015 for Workers" certification from the same institution.
