Alfons Carnicero Carmona

Alfons Carnicero Carmona has a diverse work experience in various fields. Alfons currently serves as the Co-founder and CEO of ABLE Human Motion since October 2018. Prior to this, they worked as a Part-time Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from September 2017 to February 2019.

From 2016 to 2018, Alfons worked at CREB UPC - Research Centre for Biomedical Engineering as an ABLE Project Manager, focusing on the development of a low-cost robotic exoskeleton to assist individuals with disabilities. Alfons also worked as a Research Assistant at the Biomechanical Engineering Lab during the same period.

In 2016, Alfons briefly served as an R&D engineer at Implantcast GmbH, gaining experience in research and development processes and designing medical implants using 3D models. Prior to that, they worked as an R&D engineer at Institut Guttmann, where they led an innovative research project in collaboration with doctors, physiotherapists, engineers, and patients to develop products for neurorehabilitation.

Between 2011 and 2015, Alfons worked as a Graphic Designer and Secretary at Escola Solc Nou, creating promotional materials and videos. Alfons also gained experience as a member of the organizing staff at ECCOMAS 2015, a conference on multibody dynamics.

Additionally, Alfons has experience as a basketball coach at Aula Escola Europea and Escola Pia Sarrià, where they trained different teams and organized summer camps.

Alfons Carnicero Carmona has demonstrated their expertise and versatility through their work in engineering, research, development, teaching, and coaching.

Alfons Carnicero Carmona has a diverse education history with a focus on entrepreneurship and industrial engineering. Alfons obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Industrial Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering at the same institution from 2010 to 2014.

In terms of entrepreneurship studies, Alfons participated in the Ignite 2020: Fast tracking innovation program at the Cambridge Judge Business School in 2020, focusing on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial studies. Alfons also completed the Toyota Startup Accelerator program at ISDI in the same year, further honing their skills in entrepreneurial and small business operations.

Alfons has additionally pursued a specialized entrepreneurship program, CRAASH Barcelona 2018, at Moebio Barcelona. Alfons further enhanced their entrepreneurial knowledge and skills by completing an entrepreneurship course at Escuela de Organización Industrial in 2014.

Their educational journey began at Escola Pia de Sarrià, where they obtained their High School diploma with a focus on Technological Baccalaureate from 1998 to 2010.

Alfons Carnicero Carmona has also obtained several certifications to complement their educational background. These include the Premio Joven Relevante 2023 from Círculo Ecuestre, the Premi Muncunill a la Innovació 2023 from Ajuntament de Terrassa, the Innovator Under 35 Europe certification from MIT Technology Review, and the CATALONIA EXPONENTIAL LEADER recognition from ACCIÓ. Alfons has also completed various acceleration programs and courses such as the IQS Next Tech 2019 Acceleration Program with an Industrial focus from IQS Tech Factory, the Boston Immersion Program 2018 from Richi Entrepreneurs, and the Market Assessment Programme - MAP from EADA Business School. Furthermore, they participated in the CaixaImpulse 2017 acceleration programme offered by Fundación "la Caixa" and obtained the Certificate in Advanced English (Council of Europe Level C1) from Cambridge English Language Assessment in 2015.
