Paul Bains

Paul Bains is the current Director at Able Works. Prior to this, they worked as a Demand Planner at Unilever from November 2010 to June 2015. In this role, they were responsible for the forecast accuracy and Bias for the Skin Care, (also worked on Deodorants), ensuring optimum service levels. Paul also maintained the forecast via the monthly S&OP meetings and meeting with both the Brand Building and Customer teams. Furthermore, they were in charge of maintaining the Weekly and Monthly reporting spreadsheets and reporting to the wider team on forecast accuracy and Bias on a weekly/monthly basis. Another key responsibility was the creation and upkeep of advanced excel spreadsheets to assist with the weekly job schedule.

The skills needed for this role are a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, good team working and personable skills, training skills, strong communication skills, and an advanced knowledge of excel, as well as a specialised forecasting program (SAP). Being able to work under pressure and being good with problem solving are also essential. Strong organisational skills and being able to hit specific deadlines within the monthly cycle are also key.

Paul Bains has a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science from the University of Warwick. Paul is certified by Cambridge Spark in L4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship - Data Processing with Python & Pandas andLinkedIn in Unconscious Bias.
