Emiel Schoonderwoerd

Emiel Schoonderwoerd is an experienced professional in credit risk management and product ownership, currently serving as the Lead Product Owner (Area Lead) for Credit Origination at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. since May 2018. In this role, Emiel oversees product, process, and system management for business and corporate lending, alongside development responsibilities for credit origination systems. Previously, as Head of Risk Management at New10, Emiel played a key role in establishing this digital credit provider for SMEs. Emiel's extensive career at ABN AMRO includes various leadership positions focused on credit risk and portfolio management across commercial and consumer lending. Emiel began professional training as a Management Trainee at ORMIT and holds an M.Sc. in Business Economics from Groningen University, complemented by a degree in Management, Economics & Law from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
