Norbert Kouwenberg

Norbert Kouwenberg is an experienced audit professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Audit Director for Group Audit at ABN AMRO Bank N.V., Kouwenberg holds responsibilities in both Risk Management and Corporate & Institutional Banking, while also being a member of the global Management Team for Group Audit. Previously, Kouwenberg worked at Fortis in various senior audit management roles from 1995 to 2010, focusing on integration efforts alongside global audit activities. Kouwenberg's career began at Ernst & Young, where managerial experience was gained from 1989 to 1995. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Business Economics and accountancy credentials from Tilburg University. Additionally, Kouwenberg serves as Chairman of the IIA-NL Committee on Professional Practices since October 2017.
