Aboriginal Legal Service
Usman Naveed is a legal professional with extensive experience in various roles within the legal sector, currently serving as a Solicitor at the Aboriginal Legal Service since January 2021. Prior roles include Tipstaff at the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Paralegal at The Public Defenders, and Criminal Law Intern at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency Ltd. Usman has also worked as a Legal Officer at the Immigration Advice and Rights Centre and as a Legal Assistant at the Inner City Legal Centre. Additionally, Usman has experience as an English, Legal, and History Coach at Ignite Your Learning. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with a focus on International Relations from Macquarie University, alongside a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

Born out of a protest movement, we are the primary legal service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in NSW and the ACT. We deliver free, culturally appropriate legal and wraparound advice, representation, information and referrals for thousands of people each year. We are recognised nationally for our strong advocacy and law reform work.
