Douglas Whitehead holds a Building Science (Dip) degree and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). After immigrating from South Africa in 2013, they started their career as a Site Supervisor at Deveraux Developments and was later promoted to the role of Project Manager. In 2016, they joined MPM Construction Services Ltd. as a Project Manager, where they successfully delivered over 20 projects specializing in tenant installations. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Project Manager at Graham, overseeing multiple projects ranging from $5M to $20M. Due to the economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, they sought other professional opportunities. In 2021, they worked as an Independent Consultant before joining Above Food in 2022 as an Operations Coordinator. Throughout their career, Douglas has demonstrated their ability to deliver projects on time, maintain safety records, and effectively manage communications, procurement, and construction processes.

Douglas Whitehead pursued their education from 2006 to 2008 at Tshwane University of Technology, where they obtained a Diploma in Construction, Project Management, and Quantity Surveying. Their field of study focused on Project Management.
