Gary Allwood

Gary Allwood has over 25 years of work experience in the IT industry. Gary is currently the IT Director at ABP UK, where they lead the teams responsible for business transformation, cyber security, digital transformation, and data delivery. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of IT at ABP UK from 2014 to 2022.

Before joining ABP UK, Gary served as the IT Lead at Youngs Seafood (Findus Group), where they provided operational leadership for IT services and developed the IT strategy. Gary was also the Head of Customer Services at Findus Group, responsible for the delivery of infrastructure and application services. Additionally, they held roles such as Service Delivery Manager and Operations Analyst at Youngs Seafood (Findus Group).

Gary's earlier experience includes working as a Project Manager at Grampian Country Food Group, where they successfully managed various technical and business process improvement initiatives. Gary also served in IT roles at Youngs Seafood (Findus Group), Kcom, SEMA Group, and United Biscuits.

Throughout their career, Gary has demonstrated expertise in leading high-performing teams, implementing ITIL processes, and driving continuous improvement in IT services.

Gary Allwood earned a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Maths with Computer Science from the University of Bristol from 1991 to 1994. Prior to that, they attended Sedbergh School from 1984 to 1991. Gary has also obtained additional certifications including COBIT® 2019 Foundation Certificate, CMI Level 7 Digital Leadership Programme, GDPR Practitioner, TOGAF 9, ITIL v3 Foundation for Service Management, and Prince2.
