Elana Anderson is an experienced educator and advocate with a diverse background in teaching and community engagement. Currently serving as the Dean of 9th Grade and Dean of Community Engagement & Social Justice at The Abraham Joshua since August 2016, Elana has also held positions as a High School English Teacher at the same institution. Prior experience includes roles as an Associate English Teacher at The School at Columbia University and as a Litigation Paralegal at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Elana has demonstrated leadership in translation and interpretation as a co-leader of the English-Spanish Translation & Interpretation Student Forum and served as Site Director for Let's Get Ready, guiding students from low-income communities through the college application process. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Teaching of English from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Wesleyan University.
