Altaf Shaik

Altaf Shaik has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Altaf started as a 4th Engineer at Genoa Maritime Cyprus Ltd, where they gained technical expertise in ship operations and maintenance. Altaf then worked as a Third Engineer at Anglo Eastern Ship Management, handling engineering duties and coordinating equipment procurement. After that, they joined Ideal Marine as a Marine Mechanical Engineer, focusing on ship machinery and systems.

Altaf then joined American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) as a Marine Mechanical Engineer, where they reviewed engineering plans and assisted in surveys for compliance with ABS Rules and regulatory requirements. Altaf later became a Senior Engineer at ABS and worked as a project manager, reviewing marine piping and safety systems. In their most recent role as a Principal Engineer at ABS, they are responsible for developing rule changes and proposing research projects for emerging technologies in maritime decarbonization.

Altaf also has experience as a Graduate Assistant at Bowling Green State University, where they assisted in research work and performed administrative tasks.
