Hao Song has worked as a Senior Engineer (SURF) at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) from November 2012 to June 2020. Hao then transitioned to the role of Principal Engineer at ABS starting in June 2020. Prior to ABS, Hao Song worked as a Research Associate at Newcastle University from December 2010 to October 2012 and as a Research Fellow at Griffith University from December 2004 to December 2010.
Hao Song earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Naval Architecture from Wuhan University of Technology in 1997. Hao then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Structure Engineering from the same institution between 1997 and 2000. Hao went on to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where they completed their PhD in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from 2000 to 2004.
