Joseph Riva

Joseph Riva has served as the Vice President and Chief Surveyor at the American Bureau of Shipping since November 2013, where responsibilities include overseeing all classification, certification, and statutory survey work globally, ensuring compliance with relevant ABS Rules, Guides, and Statutory requirements. Prior to this role, Joseph Riva held the position of Assistant Chief Surveyor at ABS from 1999 to 2013, providing guidance and maintaining quality and consistency in survey work within the division. Joseph Riva holds a Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, awarded between 1977 and 1981.
