Subrat Nanda

Subrat Nanda serves as the Chief Data Scientist at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) since January 2018, leading data science initiatives to drive digital transformation and develop innovative products through artificial intelligence and machine learning. Key responsibilities include advancing Condition Based Maintenance for marine assets, enhancing digital services for operators and ship owners, and mentoring a data science team. Prior to ABS, Subrat held several positions at GE, including Senior Analytics Leader for SubSea & Drilling, and Senior Data Scientist at GE Power & Water, where responsibilities encompassed developing predictive methodologies and fostering an analytics-driven culture. Subrat began a career at GE in 2003, focusing on decision sciences, machine learning, and health management technologies across diverse roles. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Exeter and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Nagpur University.
