Daniel Waweru

Daniel Waweru is a seasoned risk and compliance professional currently serving as the Head of Risk at Absa Bank Kenya since March 2021. Prior to this role, Daniel held various leadership positions, including Group Head of Compliance at African Alliance and Head of Risk & Compliance for East Africa at African Alliance Kenya Investment Bank Ltd. Daniel's career also features a tenure at Dyer and Blair Investment Bank Limited, where responsibilities included Head of Risk & Compliance and Head of Risk, Compliance and Audit. Academically, Daniel possesses a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi, a CIFA in Investment and Financial Analysis from the Institute of Certified Investment & Financial Analysts, and a CPA(K) in Accounting from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Major) and Mathematics (Minor) from Kenyatta University.
