Johannes Thongo

Johannes Thongo currently serves as the Head of Data Rails/Foundations and Country Enablement for the African Regional Office at Absa Group since January 2019, where responsibilities include driving initiatives to standardize, organize, and expose data, as well as transitioning to a strategic Hadoop lake and implementing a master data solution. Thongo has been with Barclays Africa Group Limited since 2014, initially as a Business Intelligence Manager before advancing to the role of COO and Operations BI and MI Manager, overseeing a team of 20 MI Officers across 12 countries and introducing new tools for business change. Prior experience includes Business Analyst roles at Experian and LAW CREDIT and Head of Sales at Ontogeny. Education was completed at Tshwane University of Technology, obtaining a degree in Systems Development within Information Technology.
