Malesela Lamola

Malesela Lamola currently serves as the Head of Portfolio Management for Group Operational Risk at Absa Group, a position held since May 2021. Prior to this role, Malesela was with Liberty Holdings Limited, where responsibilities included serving as Head of Operational Risk and Chief Risk Officer for Group Technology and Shared Services from February 2017 to September 2021. Malesela's extensive experience in risk management also includes serving as Head of Enterprise Wide Risk Management at Nedbank from October 2005 to January 2019, and as Operational Risk Manager at Standard Bank Group from 2004 to 2005. Early career roles include positions as an Audit Manager at Standard Bank Group and an Articled Clerk at KPMG. Malesela holds a Master of Commerce in Applied Risk Management from North-West University and multiple degrees in Commerce and Accountancy from prestigious institutions including Wits Business School and the University of South Africa.
