Mark Kwame Akakpo

Mark Kwame Akakpo has a diverse work experience in various industries. Mark Kwame has worked at Absa Group, starting in 2019, where they held roles such as Investment Banking Analyst and Investment Banking Associate focusing on M&A. Mark Kwame later became a Leveraged Finance Specialist and is currently serving as the Vice President of Corporate Development.

Prior to their work at Absa Group, Mark co-founded HoneyBee Food Co in 2017, where they successfully launched their flagship product, Honeybee Chilly Sauce. Mark Kwame also worked at Meltwater as a Client Acquisition Consultant, specializing in business development and client acquisition in Africa.

Before that, Mark worked at Sasol as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer. During their time there, they led an initiative that optimized their spare inventory system, resulting in significant cost savings. Mark Kwame also served as the Chairman of the Junior Engineers Forum.

Mark's career started at Apple in 2012 as a Sales Consultant, and they also gained experience as a Data Analyst and Information Technology Support Specialist at the University of Pretoria.
