Riaan Crafford

Riaan Crafford serves as the Principal/Operational Director at Absa Group since July 2012, overseeing Physical Security, Violent Crime, and Forensic Investigation across multiple African countries. With a focus on ensuring the safety of approximately 28,000 employees and 7,000 facilities, Riaan manages the entire lifecycle of Physical Security and Violent Crime investigations. Prior to Absa, Riaan held the position of Head Of Department at FNB South Africa, leading security and investigations for banking channels, and managed crime investigations at Fidelity Security Group. Riaan began a career in law enforcement with the South African Police Service, specializing in serious crime investigations. Riaan holds a Bachelor of Technology in Criminal Justice/Police Science from the University of South Africa.
