Mark Maratea

Mark Maratea is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in the gaming industry. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at Absurd Ventures since September 2024, Mark has previously held key positions including Chief Technology Officer and Director of Engineering at Ascendant Studios, where a strong focus was placed on gameplay engineering. Before that, Mark worked at notable companies such as King, KIXEYE, Fugitive Games, Zynga, Red Storm Entertainment, Electronic Arts, and Spark Unlimited, contributing to various projects including mobile games and AAA titles. Mark's expertise encompasses gameplay programming, AI engineering, software development, and mobile SDK integration, with a proven track record of improving system performance and user experience. Mark holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
