Brian B.

Brian B. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Brian is currently serving as the Head of Tech and Data Governance at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) since September 2022. Prior to this, in 2021, they worked as a Durham Venture School Mentor at Durham University Business School.

In 2022, Brian also held the position of an Independent Non-Executive Member to the Board Risk Committee at a financial institution. From 2020 to 2022, they served as the Founding General Manager at Pattamar.

Before that, Brian gained experience in the banking sector, working as a Senior Manager Information Security at Commercial Bank International from 2016 to 2019. Brian also held positions at Dunia Finance, initially as the Head of Operational Risk & Information Security (2015-2016) and later as the Internal Audit Manager (2014-2015).

Brian's career includes entrepreneurial experience as well. Brian was the Co-Founder & CEO at a company from 2014 to 2016.

Additionally, Brian has a strong background in audit and risk management. Brian worked at Barclays, where they held various positions, including Vice President, Barclays Internal Audit - Corporate and Investment Banking (2012-2014), Head of Internal Audit at Barclays Bank Indian Ocean (Mauritius & Seychelles) (2010-2012), and Associate Director, Barclays Internal Audit (2008-2011).

Earlier in their career, Brian served as the Chief Operating Officer, Technology & Risk at AH Consulting Uganda Ltd from 2007 to 2008.

Brian's professional journey began at PwC, where they worked as an Assistant Manager - System & Process Assurance from 2003 to 2006.

Overall, Brian B. brings a wealth of experience in tech and data governance, entrepreneurship, banking, audit, and risk management to their current role at ADGM.

Brian B. completed their education with a Masters degree in Business Administration from Durham University Business School in 2018. Brian also earned the CCISO - Certified Chief Information Security Officer certification from EC-Council in the same year. In 2015, Brian obtained the CBP & CEP certifications in Bitcoin and Ethereum from the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium (C4). Earlier, in 2005, they became an FCCA Member through ACCA and obtained certifications in CISA and CISM from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) USA. Brian's education started with a B.Commerce degree from Makerere University, which they completed in 2003.
