Koushik Balasubramanian currently serves as the Quantitative Research & Development Lead at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) since March 2023 and is also an affiliate of ADIA Lab starting January 2025. Previously, Koushik held various roles at Loomis, Sayles & Company from March 2018 to March 2023, advancing from Quant to Associate Director in Systematic Investment Strategies. Prior experience includes an Associate position at Goldman Sachs from July 2015 to March 2018 and a Postdoctoral Research Associate role at the Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics at SUNY Stony Brook from September 2012 to July 2015, specializing in topics such as Numerical Relativity and Gauge/Gravity Duality. Koushik began academic contributions as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from August 2008 to June 2012, while pursuing a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics there, having previously earned an integrated B.Tech/M.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (2002-2007).
