Shanid Puzhakkal

Shanid Puzhakkal has a diverse work experience in the field of information security. Shanid began their career as a Desktop support engineer at Auxpro intitute of Technologies in 2009. Shanid then moved on to Paramount Computer Systems, where they worked as an Information Security Engineer from 2010 to 2014, and later as an Information Security Consultant from 2014 to 2017. Following that, they joined a Leading Bank in the Region as an Information Security Consultant from 2017 to 2019. Currently, they are working at ADIB - Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank as the Head of Data Security & Access Management since October 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Information Security Lead - Data Protection from 2019 to 2021. Shanid has gained expertise in various areas of information security, including web security, identity and access management, endpoint security, data loss prevention, patch management, web and content filtering, and vulnerability management. Shanid has also successfully managed security projects for banks and government organizations.

Shanid Puzhakkal completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science from the University of Calicut between 2005 and 2009. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include the OneTrust Certified Privacy Professional from OneTrust in April 2022, the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in August 2020, the Amazon Cloud Audit Academy from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in June 2020, the Autopsy Basics and Hands On from Basis Technology in May 2020, the GDPR Data Protection Officer Skills from the University of Derby in May 2020, the Learning Cyber Incident Response and Digital Forensics from LinkedIn in May 2020, the Microsoft 365 Security Administration: Implement and Manage Identity and Access from LinkedIn in May 2020, the Privacy by Design: Data Classification from LinkedIn in May 2020, the TE Foundation and Advanced Certification from Tripwire in December 2019, the Data Classification Expert from Watchful Software (acquired by Symantec) in September 2016, the VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCA-DCV) from VMware in August 2014, the Web Proxy Administrator from Blue Coat Systems (acquired by Symantec) in September 2013, the Certified Data Security Professional from Raytheon|Websense in May 2013, and the ITIL Foundation Level from ITIL Certified in March 2013. It is also noted that Shanid has completed the Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 and Risk and Compliance Professional certifications, but the months and years of obtaining those certifications are not specified.
