Islam Khalil has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Islam began their career as a Software Engineer at ITWorx in 1997. Islam then went on to establish Sand (S.A.E) in 1999, where they served as the Chairman & Managing Director. During their time at Sand, they successfully grew the company into a reliable provider of software development services, with a specialization in computer telephony software. Additionally, they led the architecture and development of company products in the computer telephony field and established partnerships and consortia with system integrators.

After their tenure at Sand, Islam Khalil held various leadership roles. Islam served as the Vice Chairman at Egypt Forming starting from October 1998. In 2003, they became the General Manager at Centrivision. In 2014, they joined the Egyptian Furniture Export Council (EFEC) as a Member of the Board of Directors.

In 2016, Islam Khalil became the Chief Executive Officer at AbuErdan. Additionally, they joined the Chamber of Woodworking and Furniture Industry as a Member of the Board of Directors in September 2016, and their term concluded in December 2021.

Islam Khalil completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from The American University in Cairo between the years 1992 and 1997. Later, they pursued further education and obtained a Masters degree in Computer Science from the same institution, studying from 2008 to 2010.
