Basil Bin Tariq

Basil Bin Tariq began their work experience in 2016 as a Design & Manufacturing Intern at Pakistan Institute of Lasers and Optics. In 2018, they worked as a Maintenance Intern at Pakistan Railways. In 2020, they joined Abyss Solutions Ltd, initially as an Asset Integrity Engineer and later promoted to Senior Asset Integrity Engineer. In this role, they were part of a diverse team involved in the creation of a digital twin for condition monitoring of offshore oil and gas platforms for clients globally. Basil also performed tasks such as verification and updating of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), as well as discrepancy analysis of over 1000 assets on offshore oil platforms for Occidental Petroleum USA.

Basil Bin Tariq completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) between 2015 and 2019. In terms of additional certifications, Basil obtained multiple certifications related to supply chain management. These include the certifications in Supply Chain Excellence and Supply Chain Management Specialization from Rutgers University, as well as certifications in Supply Chain Management Strategy, Supply Chain Sourcing, Supply Chain Operations, Supply Chain Planning, and Supply Chain Logistics from Coursera. Basil also completed the Financial Literacy Training Program from the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF)-Pakistan. Additionally, Basil holds the designation of Registered Engineer from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), although the specific timeline for obtaining this designation is not provided. Basil also completed a certification in the Practicality of Vibration Measurement, Analysis & Troubleshooting for Piping Systems from Velosi Integrity & Safety Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.
