Oscar Swindley

Oscar Swindley has a strong background in scientific research and development. Oscar is currently working at Abzena as a Principal Scientist, where they are responsible for leading the engineering of mammalian host and vector technologies for recombinant protein production. Their previous role at Abzena was as a Senior Scientist in Cell Line Development, where they worked closely with internal and external teams to improve recombinant protein production and managed a team of up to 5 scientists.

Prior to working at Abzena, Oscar worked at The University of Sheffield, where they completed their PHD in understanding and improving protein folding and assembly in the endoplasmic reticulum. Oscar also held a position as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching various courses in biopharmaceutical engineering, molecular biology, and anatomy and physiology. Additionally, they were involved in the BIT research study, collecting data on teamwork dynamics and providing feedback to students. Oscar Swindley has a strong education background in biological and biosystems engineering. Oscar obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from The University of Sheffield between 2016 and 2021. Prior to that, they completed a Masters Degree in Biochemical Engineering with Industrial Management at the same university from 2015 to 2016. Oscar also holds a Bachelors Degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from The University of Sheffield, which they earned between 2012 and 2015. Oscar Swindley's education journey began at Therfield 6th form college, where they completed their A-Levels from 2009 to 2011.
