Carl Hayssen

Carl Hayssen has extensive experience in electrical engineering, specializing in ASIC and FPGA design for communication systems. Currently serving as a Senior Design Engineer at Acacia Communications, now part of Cisco, since January 2010, Carl focuses on designing coherent fiber optic communication modules and implementing digital control loops. Prior experience includes a tenure at Nortel as a Design Engineer for Ethernet switch/routers and significant contributions at Ungermann-Bass, where Carl worked on ASIC and FPGA design and clock recovery PLL design. Earlier roles include positions at Interlan and MITRE, where Carl developed digital designs for Ethernet technology. Carl Hayssen holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
