Zachary Foster

Zachary Foster began their professional career in 2007 as a Tour Guide for the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions. In 2009, they took on an Intern role at The School for Peace. From 2011 to 2017, they were a Ph.D student in History at Princeton University, teaching courses on the Arab-Israeli Conflict, A History of the World since 1300, and Modern Middle East History. Zachary also wrote 100,000 words on the word "Palestine". In 2015, they joined Academia.edu as the Director of Product Management, overseeing Growth, SEO, Traffic & Pricing. Zachary led the premium business from 0 subscribers to 350K subscribers and helped grow the user base from 25M to 200M+ users. Zachary also drove a ~60% YoY increase in SEO traffic in Q2 & Q3 2022. Zachary also held a Senior Product Manager role at Academia.edu.

Zachary Foster attended the University of Michigan from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government. Zachary then went on to Georgetown University from 2009 to 2011, where they received a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Arab Studies. Finally, they completed their education at Princeton University from 2011 to 2017, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Near and Middle Eastern Studies.
