Additionally, Jean-Philippe Rageade contributed to the University of Munich's Institute for International and Comparative Law as a full-time academic assistant and researcher between November 1998 and December 2002. Educational credentials include a D.E.A. in Business Law from the University Paris I Sorbonne and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster.

The Academy of European Law (ERA) is a non-profit public foundation based in Trier, Germany, which is supported by the EU and whose patrons now include all 27 EU Member States as well as Albania, the United Kingdom, the German states, and the City of Trier.
