Florenda Bates, MA, currently serves as an ESL Adjunct Professor at Prince George's Community College since August 2019 and also teaches Language Arts and Reading at the Academy of Hope Adult PCS. Previous roles include Adult Education ESL/Reading Instructor at LAYC Career Academy Public Charter School and Adult Education Specialist II/GED Instructor at Maryland Multicultural Youth Center. Florenda has extensive experience developing curriculum and lesson plans that adhere to educational standards and addressing the diverse needs of adult learners. With a Master's degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from New York University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from Howard University, Florenda has focused on creating engaging learning environments and utilizing innovative teaching strategies throughout various educational settings.
