John De Margheriti

CEO at Academy of Interactive Entertainment

John De Margheriti has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. John is currently the Chairman/Producer at DEMS Entertainment, where they are involved in developing feature films and strategic partnerships. Prior to this, they founded and served as the Executive Chairman of the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE), Australia's leading educator in animation, game design, and film. John also co-founded and directed Game Plus Co-working, a non-profit co-working space for game developers. Additionally, they co-founded and chaired the AIE Incubator, which supports students in launching their own games companies. John De Margheriti was also a co-founder and CEO of Micro Forte, a startup company focused on gaming, and co-founder and CEO of BigWorld Pty Ltd, a company specializing in online game technologies. Lastly, they founded and served as the treasurer of the Game Developers' Association of Australia.

John De Margheriti obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UNSW in the years 1981 to 1985. John also completed a Global Executive MBA program at The University of Sydney Business School from 2011 to 2012.
