Margaret Knell, MS, MBA, serves as the Manager of Governance for the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) and the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB) since October 2020, overseeing governance initiatives and providing expertise on non-profit governance policies. As a freelance Governance Consultant since October 2018, Margaret advises not-for-profit clients on governance best practices and operational structures. Previously, Margaret held various roles at I-CAR from 1996 to 2018, culminating in the position of Director of Governance/Administration, where responsibilities included developing governance plans and providing fiduciary oversight. Margaret's educational background includes a Master of Science in Information Technology and Privacy Law from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Business from John Carroll University.
