Will Temby believes in public service. He also believes there is nothing more important to the future than kids; they are his inspiration for running for the Academy District 20 (ASD20) Board of Education (BOE).
Elected to the BOE in 2019, Temby wants the district to be relevant and high performing, not just big. His vision is an adaptable district that is well prepared to successfully navigate the challenges of growing numbers of students, while also helping families understand the importance of education.
Prior to becoming a member of the BOE, Temby dedicated his free time to participating in several district-level committees including serving as co-chair of the Yes for 3A Bond Committee, parent chair of the District Accountability Committee and the Growth and Capital Needs Committee. He did so while running his own staffing company, which he acquired in 2011 after a successful career in the hospitality industry. Most recently Temby served as the president/chief executive officer of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and as a vice president of the University of Colorado Foundation.
Temby’s passion for education comes from being part of a large family who values lifelong learning. Everyone in his family is a product of public education, including his father a WWII veteran.
Originally from Boston, Temby attended the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst where he received a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration.
A frequent traveler, Temby has traversed the United States and while he has called many places home, nowhere has held him as captive as Colorado. He enjoys the state’s first-class skiing, hiking and golfing.
Temby is married to Nan and has five children: Matthew, Amanda, Christopher, Ethan and Amelia—all of whom are products of ASD20.
