Ian C. Burdette

Ian C. Burdette, CFA, CMT has an extensive work experience spanning over several years. Ian C. is currently working as a Managing Director at Academy Securities since February 2020. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Managing Director at Tribal Capital Markets, LLC from June 2018 to January 2020. Ian also held the position of Managing Director at Mizuho from June 2011 to January 2020.

In addition to their roles in the finance industry, Ian has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University from April 2016 to January 2018.

Before joining Mizuho, Ian had an impressive career at Banc of America Merrill Lynch, where they worked as a Managing Director. Ian C. was responsible for managing desk risk, balance sheet usage, and trading for a team of six. Ian also played a crucial role in building primary syndicate books for all product lines housed in the business.

Furthermore, Ian has experience working as a Managing Director at a global investment bank. Ian C. focused on GSE (Government-Sponsored Enterprises) and SSA (Supervised Structured Applications) trading, producing tradable volatility products and coordinating syndicate building functions for new issue GSE and SSA bullet and callable issues.

Ian's career started at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc, where they worked as a Director in the U.S. broker dealer arm. Prior to that, they held Vice President roles at both Goldman, Sachs & Co and Goldman Sachs.

Before entering the finance industry, Ian worked as a Term Funding Officer at Federal Home Loan Banks. Ian C. managed financing needs through the issuance of various debt instruments and interacted with broker dealers to identify funding patterns and opportunities for the system.

Ian C. Burdette, CFA, CMT completed a Bachelor of Science in Economic & Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration at Towson University from 1987 to 1991. Ian C. then pursued a Master's degree in Finance at the University of Baltimore from 1992 to 1993. In addition, Ian has obtained multiple certifications, including the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute in 1996 and the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation from the CMT Association, Inc. in 2018. Alongside their educational accomplishments, Ian has acquired various certifications through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) such as the General Securities Representative Examination, General Securities Principal Examination, and Municipal Securities Principal Examination, among others.
