Monica Hernandez has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Monica started their career as a Banking Assistant at Unicaja Banco (Caja Duero) in 1997. Monica then moved on to the University of Salamanca, where they worked as a Lecturer in Financial Management from 1999 to 2004. Following that, Monica joined Cpl Solutions as an Administrator in the Microsoft Licensing Department from November 2004 to May 2005. Monica then joined Depfa Bank and took on various roles, including Risk Analyst in the Quality Assurance Team, Risk Analyst in the Projects Team, Risk Methods/Valuations Associate Director, and finally Head of Product Valuations - Director. Monica worked at Depfa Bank from May 2005 to February 2020. In June 2020, they joined Quaternion Risk Management as a Client Onboarding Manager and transitioned to Acadia in February 2021, where they currently hold the role of Client Onboarding Manager in the Quantitative Services Division.
Monica Hernandez obtained their first class honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain from 1993 to 1997. Monica then pursued a diploma of higher education at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University from 1996 to 1997, under an Erasmus Scholarship. Following this, they completed their PhD in Finance at the University of Salamanca from 1997 to 2004. In 1998 to 1999, they were awarded a research and training scholarship by the Spanish government at the University of Salamanca as well.
