Shumon Ali-Rahman

Shumon Ali-Rahman has extensive experience in media relations and communication, currently serving as Media Lead at ACAS since September 2012, where responsibilities include managing media strategy, advising senior leadership, and overseeing a 24/7 press office. As of October 2023, Shumon also serves as a local councillor for the Higham Hill ward in Walthamstow. Previously, Shumon held the position of Senior Press Officer at the Department of Health and Social Care, providing media guidance and communication support to government officials, and worked as a Press Officer at the Central Office of Information. Earlier career highlights include freelance journalism for prominent media organizations and a leadership role as President of the Students' Union at the University of Bradford. Shumon holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Bimedia Journalism from Leeds Trinity University and a BA Hons in Interdisciplinary Human Studies from the University of Bradford.
