Mary Ellen Wiederwohl serves as the President & CEO of Accelerator for America since January 2022. Previously, Mary Ellen held the position of Interim President & CEO and Strategic Advisor at LHOME from August 2021 to June 2022. From July 2012 to December 2020, Mary Ellen was the Chief of Louisville Forward, focusing on an integrated approach to economic and community development, and also served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Strategic Initiatives at MML&K Government Solutions from February 2003 to July 2012. Additionally, Mary Ellen was the Past President of the Junior League of Louisville from June 2009 to May 2010. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Political Science from the University of Louisville.

Accelerator for America finds and develops local solutions to economic insecurity and shares them with cities across the country. We support initiatives that connect people with existing jobs, create new opportunities and foster infrastructure development. We are led by an Advisory Council consisting of mayors and leaders from the labor, business and non-profit sectors. Currently, our work is conducted in two specific verticals: Transit & Infrastructure and Economic Development.
